Kings Forest and Timworth

Lapwing - Timworth - January 16th 2022

20 miles in the legs didn't add anything to the Local Big Year tally - but it was nice to go 'long' and the weather came out gorgeous. Never seen the forest so busy, with 4 x 4's, enduro and motocross bikes, horse riders, dog walkers and cyclists! It's no wonder I saw literally no birds in the southern section. In quiet sections it was scenic enough, I'd have enjoyed it more with the odd Crossbill or Woodlark...

I've now seen Green Sandpiper in three locations; sewage works, Hall Farm and a random puddle near Timworth - it could literally be the same bird at all locations as there is only a mile or two in it - or there's three birds wintering nearby. Who knows...
