I was having a blissfully idle Saturday, lie-in, cooked breakfast, few chores round the house. You know, the sort of weekend morning you dream of all week. It was really recuperative.
That was until the David Darrell Lambert lambasted me with messages demanding we go birding. We met at Micklemere just after midday and enjoyed 13 White-fronted Geese (expertly found by local birder Joe), Barnacle Goose, Stonechat and flyover Grey Wagtail. 29 species in total at the small local reserve was respectable, especially with the White-fronts amongst the resident geese.

After the wildfowl we decided to go for a romantic walk in the forest, this did not yield the same levels of ornithological magic. Stonechat, Woodlark and the odd Buzzard and Kestrel kept our attention, as well as a magic sun down.
