A walk down to Timworth and back with the good lady garnered no less than three year ticks! Three year ticks over just nine miles walking - that's a tick every three miles!
A vast improvement compared to 20 miles walking last Sunday with no Local Big Year / year ticks!
I also did two lunchtime bike rides down to Livermere in the week, the first of which provided a pair of Pintail. An increasingly difficult bird to connect with in West Suffolk nowadays:

Today's ticks came via Meadow Pipit, Jack Snipe and Tree Sparrow. Having had a single Common Snipe the first weekend of the year I was hoping I'd kick up a Jackie this time, after 2 Commons - I hit the jackpot with a Jackie Jack Snipe - in prime habitat:

The manky farm reservoir held a drake Shoveler, 6 Shelduck and the duck Goldeneye from the 1st January re-appeared:
